Secure Shell Crypto (“we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you use our Service.

Personal data’ means all information that can be used to identify a person (directly or indirectly), or traced back to a person such as a first and last name, telephone number, postal and electronic addresses, date of birth, payment information and bank details.

When you establish or attempt to establish an account, we collect the information listed below. We need this information because it its is either required by law to verify your identity, necessary for us to be able to provide you services or is relevant to our legitimate business interest.

2.1 Customer Provided Information

We collect basic user information: First and last name, email address, state and country of residence, phone number, and a password for logging into our services.

Users are requested to provide identification formation to help us verify your identity. We or our third-party partners may request: Photographs and/or videos, Government-issued identity document, e.g. passport, driver’s license, or identification card, Social security number, employment information (e.g. company name), proof of residency, including visa information Utility bills (for your billing address).

We and/or our third-party providers may request biometric information generated based on photos or videos you provide in order for us to verify your identity

2.2 Financial Information

In order for us to provide services, we may request bank account numbers - income, income/net assets/wealth verification statements. Secure Shell will not store any payment information, that information will be stored with our third-party service providers.

You may have to provide a cryptocurrency wallet addresses. We will also maintain information about the transactions made on our Services, such as the name of the sender, the name of the recipient, the amount, currency preferences, payment method, date, and/or timestamp

2.3 Changes to Your Data

It is important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes or if you become aware that any personal data that we hold is not accurate.

2.4 Technical Information

This includes information we collect automatically or generate about you, such as through the use of cookies, server logs, and other similar technologies when you interact with our Services. Information collected automatically includes:

  • IP address at registration and login

  • Device information

  • Service usage information.

    2.5 Information Collected From Other Sources

We may collect information about you from third party sources and services to verify your identity. We may use public databases (such as United Nations Sanctions List, US ITA Consolidated Screening List and/or SDN List), credit bureaus and ID verification partners, and blockchain data, to help us verify you and provide you services.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to operate, improve, create, develop, and provide our Services. Additionally, we use your information for legal, compliance, loss prevention, and anti-fraud purposes. Below is an explanation of our uses of your data. We need the above information so we can:

  • Process transactions and provide our Service

  • Verify your identity and prevent fraud

  • Communicate important account updates

  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements

    4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

While we use reasonable efforts to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information. In the event that we are required by law to inform you of a breach to your personal information we may notify you electronically, in writing, or by telephone, if permitted to do so by law.

You also play a vital role in protecting your own personal information. When registering with our Services, choose a password of sufficient length and complexity, don’t reveal it to any third-parties and immediately notify us if you become aware of any unauthorized access to or use of your account.

You have the right to access your personal information, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your account and export your transaction history

7. Data Retention

We will hold your personal information only as long as is necessary and that you consent. The retention period will be determined by the following criteria:

  • the purpose for which we are using your personal information – we will need to keep the information for as long as is necessary for that purpose; and
  • legal obligations – laws or regulation may set a minimum period for which we have to keep your personal information.

To determine the appropriate retention period for personal information, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the information, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of the information, the purposes for which we obtained the information and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, as well as applicable legal requirements.  In line with these considerations, we delete information that is no longer needed for the above purposes when you close your account, or when you request deletion of your information.

Our web interface uses:

  • Session cookies for authentication

  • CSRF tokens for security

  • No third-party tracking cookies

    9. Children’s Privacy

Our Service is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you are under the age of 18, please do not provide any personal information through or Services. If a user submitting personal information is suspected of being younger than 18 years of age, we will require the user to close their account and will not allow the user to continue using our Services.

10. International Users

Our services are for United States based users only. We do not and will not make any cross-border transfers or transactions. Your information may be processed in the United States. By using our Service, you consent to this transfer.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email or through our Service.

Please note that the following table is comprehensive, and we collect different information about people based on their relationship and interactions with us. 

Sensitive Information Disclosure 

We collect the following categories of sensitive personal information (as defined under California law): Social security, driver’s license, state identification card, or passport number; account log-in in combination with any required security or access code, password, or credentials allowing access to an account; and biometric information. This information is collected in order to process transactions, comply with laws, manage our business, or provide you with Services. Note that we do not use such information for any purposes that are not identified within Cal. Civ. Code 1798.121. We do not “sell” or “share” sensitive personal information for purposes of cross-context behavioral advertising.
